Yellowstone is a beautiful place, and it will only get more exciting I believe.
If you have facebook, we’ll be uploading most of our photographs there whenever we have the time=)
We have made many good friends along the way, and the locals/other international employers are [mostly] friendly. American cuisine is fantastic on your first few meals, but subsequently it gets depressingly mundane — Same old steamed green french beans, same scrambled eggs with cheese, same kind of meat patties with burger or rice, and veryvery sweet pastries and desserts.
Christine just pointed out that our exams just ended one week ago. =X To think time passed so fast on the plane and here in Yellowstone! I feel almost anxious to collect our results already!
I have not really started to miss home yet. Of course we do think about home, but I haven’t been mopey or depressed over leaving home (yet).
Have been working long hours in the kitchen for the past few days. Not a glamorous job at all, but we’ve made some decent friends and learnt some useful things about how the kitchen works. We also get to mingle with the chefs in the kitchen, which is cool.
It’s amazing how the snow recedes from sheets of white ice to brown gravel with thin layers of ice on it. I wonder how the landscape will look from our window out tomorrow morning when the sun shines in. We saw nice features too! The little landforms the snow makes reminds me of Ms Ting and her geography lesson on tors and wind/water erosion on rocks. I wonder if the same theories can be applied to snow and ice structures too. Hopefully the snow wouldn’t have melted that much tomorrow morning so that I can take a picture of these ice structures I’m referring to!
Okay I’m nodding off while blogging, off to bed!
